When New York artist Andres Serrano plunged a plastic crucifix into a glass of his own urine and photographed it in 1987 under the title Piss Christ, he said he was making a statement on the misuse of religion…
But on Palm Sunday morning, four people in sunglasses aged between 18 and 25 entered the exhibition just after it opened at 11am. One took a hammer out of his sock and threatened the guards with it. A guard grabbed another man around the waist but within seconds the group managed to take a hammer to the plexiglass screen and slash the photograph with another sharp object, thought to be a screwdriver or ice-pick.
Had such a perfect weekend with Joshua :-)
"By displaying damaged panels, dried flowers and pigments Paula Doepfner creates poetic bodies of work, that are kind of reminiscent of her blocks of ice.”
“Andy Denzler ’s pieces are snap-shots of events that take place in the span of mere moments, distorted in their movements, their timeframe artificially smeared and elongated into frozen eternities like the oscillating frames of a VHS tape hovering on pause.”
In a few days, I’ll be seeing my boyfriend again. We met on this site when we were sophomores in high school and quickly became friends. Middle of senior year, I knew I wanted to make him mine and he became my boyfriend. We’ve Skyped every night, literally, every night until one of us would get sleepy. Now we’re starting college, and maybe I’ll miss it all but I know seeing him in person will be ten times better!
